Our Sefer Torah

The Living Lab, under the direction of Rabbi Sarah Etz Alon has made a commitment to the restoration of its ancient Sefer Torah, a Holocaust Scroll. This is a spectacular 400 hundred year old Torah Scroll with some wonderful features, like the awesome Peh Melufefets in this image. The scroll needs a lot of work, but she’s worth it, and will be utilized also as a teaching resource with the students and chevre of the Living Lab.

Several years ago, in Ashland Oregon, Reb Zalman blessed this Sefer Torah and the work of the Living Lab as we prepare a new generation of teachers for the Jewish community. What a Gevalt!

That was a great moment. Now the painstaking work of slowly redeeming this Sefer Torah begins.
